We have a rather unusual problem occurring with a client in which the FCKEditor freezes the browser when the page has returned with the response after the user
has made a form submit (which send contents to our database). The unusual part is that it only affects a particular user - when another user accesses the same
part of the site from a different location, the problem does not occur. This leads me to believe it is an issue with the client's browser environment. We are runnning FCKEditor version 2.0 FC, and our clients are using MS IE 5.5+.
A few months ago we had a similar problem with another client - some users (but not others) were losing changes in the editor on a form submit. It turned that when the affected users logged into their MS Window machines, a network login script was modifying their IE programs, disabling its ability to read content from an IFrame.
Because the problem we're having now occurs with some users, and not others, this leads me to believe that it is caused by a difference in the affected user's browser environment.
I was wondering if anyone had similar issues in the past
(namely modified browser environments causing problems with the functionality of FCKEditor) and if you had any ideas about how to approach a problem such as
this. Do we investigate the local settings of IE? IF so what settings are important to support FCK?
Thanks in advance for any help.
