FCKEditor 1.6 under ie7/vista, would it be possible?

For a client I should get FCKeditor 1.6 working under IE7/VISTA (or IE6 if possible to get it running on Vista). Would it be possible to modify FCKeditor 1.6 to manage this? What kind of modifications would need to be made?

I'm not sure if it's possible to use the old DHTML editing component under Vista. Upgrading to the latest 2.5.1 version seems the wisest move as you get much more than compatibility with IE7

I know that FCKeditor is much much better, but there have been made quite some modifications to the 1.6 version by my client, and adopting them to a new version will be very difficult. So perhaps a better alternative is to make the 1.6 version run under vista.

Can I test the old DHTML editing component under Vista or would it be possible to get FCKeditor 1.6 working with the thing that does work under Vista?
