FCK edtor - the teaser area box flashes then goes away

On FCKeditor, the box for the teaser summary flashes and then goes away when I first try to edit a page.

Also, like CKeditor, there is a teaser button and I can insert a teaser. But when I look at it on the website, the teaser does not work and I just see the entire page of text.
