Help!
I recently upgraded a number of sites to FCKEditor 2.42 and have discovered, painfully, that when i preload content from a database that contains a single comment tag (or ssi tag), the editor removes the comment (or ssi tag).
If i add content that is just a comment, on submit, it is removed from the editor. I can surround the comment with <p> tags and it's okay. I can also add an empty set of <p> tags and it saves ok... but i need, for formatting reasons, to NOT have to add these.
This behavior does NOT exhibit in FCKEditor 2.3x
Any one with any ideas - please help! I'll have to go back and downgrade everyone to 2.3 if i can't figure this out in a week or so.

RE: FCK 2.42 Removing HTML Comments when save
I ran across this same issue with 2.4.2 just this morning - client was trying to put in a single image, and the source would go poof when saving or trying to view source. Surrounding with <p></p> did the trick, same as for lkellyyo3.
The trick, though, is you have to throw in some garbage text, THEN place the image, then get the <p></p> around the image, then remove the garbage text. Placing an image by itself (single tag) and then going to view source = source goes poof.
