Hi All
I am using the latest stable FCKeditor 2.6.4 on Drupal 6.10.
When I select <br> for Enter Mode,
FCKeditor inserts a <br /> tag in the contents (even thought nothing
has been entered into the contents yet) when I use Firefox.
When I use Google's Chrome, it inserts a even when nothing has been entered.
When I use Internet Explorer 7, there is no problem. The contents page is empty as it should
be (since nothing has been entered).
This is causing problem to Drupal.
Is there a fix to this?
Thank you.

This seems similar to ticket #325 http://dev.fckeditor.net/ticket/325. I am upgrading a local install from 2.4.1, patched with the fixes for #325, to 2.6.4. I am in EnterMode = br and am using GetXHTML() to drive an autosave. It appears that there is a regression that is causing the DOM to be updated. Because of this, GetXHTML() also guarantees (at least in my case) that IsDirty() returns true, regardless of actual edits. My primary testing is on Firefox 3 / OSX.

I have learned that this issue is more related to tickets #1150 and #2522. There is a simple patch attached to ticket #2522 that resolves this issue and the dirtying of content by calling FCK.GetXHTML(). It applies cleanly against 2.6.4 and trunk as of r3317.
