Editor won't display inside form

I have a form generated from a php function. The form was working fine until I changed a textarea to FCKeditor. The editor now displays BEFORE the form and throws the whole page out of whack but the source has the editor AFTER the form, and the script that is called when the form is submitted doesn't recognise the editor variable. The form renders ok in a html page but the form must be generated from the function. I am using FCKeditor V 2.2. I changed the name of the submit button as apparently this was a bug in previous versions but it didn't work. Has anybody any ideas of what could be causing this? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
