Hello,
I need to obtain a document from a database (a DB2 document management application) and place it within the FCKeditor control on my JSP. I am using JSF. I used Method 2 to place a textarea on the screen. I can then create a document and load it out to a hidden input tag to send to my managed bean and update the database. Later I want to be able to edit the document in it's entirety. I have a select in my Java code to read the data from the database and I place it in the hidden variable. From there I am executing an window.onload event that calls the editor to get the data from the hidden variable into the textarea using SetData. The SetData method is causing a javascript acception: "this.EditingArea is null or not an object".
I'm beginning to think that I can't load the textarea from an onload event. The the FCKeditor control is not yet rendered by the time I try to load the control. Should I perhaps try Method 3 with AJAX? Does anyone have an example where this javascript should reside in the JSP?
Any and all help would be appreciated. I have been struggling with this for almost two weeks?
