I am looking to edit the fckeditorcode_gecko.js and fckeditorcode_ie.js files, I am happy to edit the compressed file as I just want to change one of the dialog box extensions from .html to .php.
However, if I make _any_ change to these files, even just adding a space at the start, the editor becomes invisible in the web page where I'm using it.
I have also downloaded the packager to attempt to make the changes this way, but when I run it I get an error message "The application failed to initialize properly (0x00000135). Click OK to terminate the application".
Many thanks in advance

RE: Editing .js files makes editor invisible
With regards to the packager this might be due to an out of date .Net framework. I remember that some time ago had one such problem (I don't know if it was the same error number) and it went away as soon as I updated with the latest patches.
RE: Editing .js files makes editor invisible
Thanks for your advice, you were right about the .Net thing, and I can run the packager now. However, when I run it on my modified source I still get the blank editor in my application.
But if I run the code from source I get the output I expect. Could this really be something to do with the editor I am using? I generally use Crimson Editor which is a pretty solid free programmers editor, but after your mentioned it I've tried Text Pad too, but that didn't seem to make any difference.
Any help from anyone would be massively appreciated.

RE: Editing .js files makes editor invisible
I would suggest you to first run the packager on the original source files, test that they do run fine (I know that when the 2.3.1 was released it didn't work and even now I think that it still gives different compressed files than the provided ones so I haven't join the will to test if it works and I can redo again all my patches)
If you can compress the original sources and they work, but then you touch anyone of them just opening and saving again and it doesn't work it seems to be a problem with your editor.
Anyway the browser should generate some errors if something is wrong
