I am using following js code segment to initialize the editor
var oFCKeditor = new FCKeditor( 'MyTextarea' ) ;
oFCKeditor.BasePath = "/FCKeditor/" ;
oFCKeditor.ReplaceTextarea() ;
But, I have more curiosity on how to destroy the editor and completely remove it from the page (DOM Tree)? Is there any API I can use for this purpose?
Thank,
Chun

RE: Destroy the editor
oEditor = FCKeditorAPI.GetInstance('message') ;
document.getElementById("bbcode_panel").style.display="block";
document.getElementById("message").style.display="block";
document.getElementById("message").value = oEditor.GetHTML(false);
oEditor.ToolbarSet.Collapse() ;
oEditor.EditorDocument.body.contentEditable = false;
which gets the textarea previously replaced by the editor back, but I want be able to toggle in and out of editor mode, and what I have so far does not destroy the editor.

Maybe my "HOWTO - reach anything from out of the editor" helps: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php? ... _id=257180

The article I'm guessing is: http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4009125
it doesn't relate...
