If I'm not mistaken, in your configuration file there is a spot that lists all of the toolbar buttons. Just remove the spell checker from this list, and it won't show it any more.

Yeah, the config file is: fckconfig.js

Just remove the 'SpellCheck' from whatever toolbar set you're using
