As CKEditor loads, page formatting is lost.

Hi there, new to the forums here

I have a Drupal 7 site using the latest CKEditor. It works great when I create and save nodes. When I reutrn to edit those nodes, however, CKEditor strips all the formatting (e.g. paragraphs). I see when it is loading that the HTML is there, but it seems to strip it when the editor loads. Any insights?

I tried searching but couldn't come up with a solution, but I'm sure it's an issue that's been encountered before (maybe I'm using the wrong terms).
