If using TinyMCE... when inserting the video into the texarea of the editor, then there is only a yellow placeholder for the video. It would have been very nice if possible to see at least an image-grab of the inserted video instead of a colored area.
TinyMCE and video works but is not very intuitive to edit since you do not know which yellow box represent which video..., you have to compare with the frontend.
Now, if CKeditor for Joomla could make it better.... that would be great.
The other method is to: Go to: Article Manager: Articles Click the "Options" button. Click the "Text filters" tab. Now you have to set proper Black-list and/or White-list. I have not used this method, mainly because you will have to enable everything, as I have pointed out in this bug-report: http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... m_id=23207
If following the above instructions... you should be able to insert a video using TinyMCE, e.g. by inserting a link like this after clicking "Insert / Edit embedded media" and pasting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWak_bUH ... r_embedded into the "File / Url" field
Hi, in my case adding youtube videos with TinyMce doesn't work, but this is not a main topic of this post. To embed yt video you can currently do this: - use media embed plugin (there is a special button in component configuration layout settings tab), but in this case you have to paste embed string from youtube like

Re: CKEditor for Joomla 1.6 - How do you insert a YouTube vi
can you explain to me how you add video in TinyMce ? In my joomla it doesn't work - only link to video is shown after article save.
This is request for ckeditor itself not only component to joomla.
Re: CKEditor for Joomla 1.6 - How do you insert a YouTube vi
First you have to set "Functionality" to Extended, in Plug-in Manager: Editor - TinyMCE.
Then, probably, to be able to save the video properly with the article, you have to do one of the two options below:
The fast and dirty way (hack), search for "An ugly hack" in the link below:

The other method is to:
Go to: Article Manager: Articles
Click the "Options" button.
Click the "Text filters" tab.
