RE: Anyone used FCK Editor with FileThingie?
I study the question ! But File Thingie is protected by a copyright...
I'm waiting for an authorisation.

It's protected by CC (creative commons) not by copyright.
From the website: http://www.solitude.dk/filethingie/download.php

This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivs-NonCommercial license. In short that means that you cannot distribute derrivative works, and you cannot use File Thingie for commercial purposes.
But, yes, you are correct that you need to ask if you want to do make any changes to the program.
RE: Anyone used FCK Editor with FileThingie?
Thanks for checking that out for me.
My problem I have is coding it into filethingie - I am not sure how to do that - I have not got as far as to actually trying out fck in file thingie so if you could show me the code that you added to filethingie.php that would be great.
Re Commercial use
I have used filethingie in the past and after paying a small licence fee each time I have been able to use it for a commercial purpose.

RE: Anyone used FCK Editor with FileThingie?
- add call to fckeditor javascript file, after <title> tag
<script type="text/javascript" src="/fckeditor/fckeditor.js"></script>
- when filethingie check if $editfile is "txt", place a test to use fckeditor for other files than txt type.
<form action="<?php echo $formaction;?>" method="post">
<fieldset>
<textarea cols="76" rows="20" name="filecontent"><?php echo $filecontent;?></textarea>
<input type="hidden" name="editfile" value="<?php echo $editfile;?>" />
<input type="hidden" name="action" value="savefile" />
<input type="submit" value="<?php echo printMsg("buttonSaveFile");?>" name="submittype" />
<input type="reset" name="reset" value="<?php echo printMsg("buttonReset");?>" />
<input type="submit" value="<?php echo printMsg("buttonCancel");?>" name="submittypecancel" />
<input type="checkbox" name="convertspaces" id="convertspaces" /><label for="convertspaces"><?php echo printMsg("textConvertToTabs");?></label>
</fieldset>
</form>
<p>
<form action="<?php echo $formaction;?>" method="post">
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
//sBasePath = "/dzine/explorer/fckeditor/";
sBasePath = "/fckeditor/";
var oFCKeditor = new FCKeditor( 'FCKeditor1' );
oFCKeditor.BasePath = sBasePath;
oFCKeditor.Height = 600 ;
oFCKeditor.Config['FullPage'] = true;
oFCKeditor.Value = '<?php echo ($filecontent);?>';
oFCKeditor.Create() ;
-->
</script>
<input type="hidden" name="editfile" value="<?php echo $editfile;?>" />
<input type="hidden" name="action" value="savefile" />
<input type="submit" value="<?php echo printMsg("buttonSaveFile");?>" name="submittype" />
<input type="submit" value="<?php echo printMsg("buttonCancel");?>" name="submittypecancel" />
</form>
RE: Anyone used FCK Editor with FileThingie?
Thanks.
In your config I could not get FCK to show - I know you will say paths but I did get FCK to show without the first set of php checking you put in but with problems.
My screenshot best explains it

Thanks for any guidance on this.

RE: Anyone used FCK Editor with FileThingie?
The integration of FCKEditor work well, but i have classical problems with carriage return in edited files. But i work on a solution.
Have you a particular problem ?

RE: Anyone used FCK Editor with FileThingie?
I have separated the editing between .txt and other files. For .txt, i use the default system, and fck only for html and php files.
Sorry, i do not have other solution at this moment and no time to search.
RE: Anyone used FCK Editor with FileThingie?
Appreciate your efforts.
I have been able to get filethingie to work with TinyMCE and txt files but of course that program does not have the standalone image uploading functionality of FCK.
If I come accross a solution I'll post here.
Cheers
Chris
