I noticed i was getting "Access is Denied" or "Permission Denied" javascript errors ocassionally. I couldn't understand why since i made no changes to the code at the times when it wasn't working. So how then could it work today and give me an "Access is Denied" or a "Permission Denied" Javascript error tomorrow?
It took me half a day to figure out that my server grants access to my website via both http://www.mysite.com and http://mysite.com. While i had set the base path to http://www.mysite.com/fckeditor, i was ocassionally (and unconsciously) accessing my web site via http://mysite.com. As a result, i was getting a javascript access is denied or permission denied error because the browser (or some security script/feature?) thought i was trying to access the editor from a different domain.
Now that i've figured that part out, my questions are: How can i work around this? Is there a way i can force my editor to recognize both http://www.mysite.com and http://mysite.com as the same domain? Or do i have to come up with something (like a mod rewrite rule) to force the "www." in the address at times when someone just doesn't bother to type it in?
I'm currently working on a project that will use FCKEditor and i don't want to have to tell my clients that they "must" ensure they type in "www." before their domain name for the editor to work properly. Some people will ask the same thing 100 times and i don't even want to begin imagining what that would be like
Anyone else with this issue?

Re: Access is Denied or Permission Denied javascript error
Looks cookie/domain related.
Also depends of machines, but w/ IE (6 and 7) only, not Firefox.
I had similar problems with other progs ...
