AVG anti virus v8

I had exactly the same problem - turning off Link Scanner has sorted it. Thanks for your post - you saved me going insane!
It's a handy feature of AVG 8 though and it will become a problem for FCK users.

After I turned Linkscanner off, I tried restarting it and it's worked fine ever since with FCK. Strange. I opened a support case with AVG (I have the paid version) but closed it as no fault found...

@clum1, did AVG give any explanation for the problem, or simply closed your ticket with no further information (like... I don't care about it... closing)?

No, they asked me to set some logging and diagnostics and then send them the file. By that time, I'd got it working by turning Linkscanner off so let it slide. It was only later I tried turning it back on and it worked OK. Sorry, I was busy at the time and didn't have a chance to hunt it down.
To their credit, AVG have been good support-wise as I'm in the middle of rolling out around 100 copies. no-one else on my network has complained about it yet either (FCK is used on my intranet), but I'll keep you posted if they do.
