45 minutes of typing lost, no autosave?

I'm new to FCKeditor and I had just written a great blog post (obviously that's a subjective evaluation) and accidentally hit the back button on Firefox 3, beta 5 and when I realized my mistake, I hit the forward button to go back into the editor, but my entire article was gone. No problem, I thought, I'll just go get the autosaved draft copy - except there wasn't one! It appears that unlike the native Wordpress editor, FCKeditor doesn't autosave?! We're running the new release of Wordpress (2.51) and it seems to work great otherwise but honestly, an editor is worse than useless to me if it doesn't autosave - I can insert any html code I need by hand, or by using Wordpress' native editor buttons, but I'm not going to spend another 45 minutes trying to remember what I wrote - therefore that article is lost forever.

I have confirmed that autosave is working fine in Wordpress' native editor, it saves a draft if I move to another tab in Firefox, or about every couple of minutes if I just leave that tab open. So please, if FCKeditor is supposed to have autosave, please fix it so it works with the new version of Wordpress. And if it doesn't, please consider adding it. I've had to disable the plugin for now, because autosave is the #1 most essential feature for me in any editor - I just can't over-emphasize what a deal-breaker it is if an editor doesn't have it.

Also, if it is supposed to have this feature, is there a way to increase the frequency of autosaves? We wouldn't mind having a save once per minute!
