Hi there,
On any page where I have the editor, appears in the top left corner.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why or how to remove this?
My apologies if this has been posted before, but I can't seem to be able to search for this string.
best regards
Rob

I've lost 4 hours of my life to trace this "bug"
On some unknown reason, there are 3 strange bytes in the beginning of fckeditorcode_gecko.js. Firefox displays them as "". Probably, other files are also corrupted.
$ tar -tzvf ~/Desktop/FCKeditor_2.4.3.tar.gz | grep gecko

Re:
The three bytes in the beginning is the UTF-8 byte-order mark. It indicates that the .js file is encoded in UTF-8.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte_Order_Mark
Normally, those three bytes should not be rendered in Firefox, however. As far as we know, our demo page and nightly builds do not have such an error in Firefox. Could you please give us a test case where Firefox displays the three characters, so we can find out what triggered the error?
Re:
Aha!
I miss good old plain text.
As far as I can see, in my case the problem was triggered by bogus HTTP response headers ("Content-Type text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1").
Re:
Removing that (dreamweaver generated insert) from the headers cleared mine up too.
Cheers gritzko & martinkou .
