A quick post for anyone else who notices this.
In Safari (5.0.2) and Chrome (6.0.472.59), thumbnails were not appearing in the file manager pop-up. All other browsers were fine. I should note that Safari and Chrome are default installations, as I only use them for testing.
Setting $config['Thumbnails']['directAccess'] to true fixed the issue for me.
Am I overlooking another fix? Exactly how much of a performance hit does setting directAccess to true create?
