I have started over with the newest version of CKEditor for WP. 3.6.2.5. I have also downloaded ckfinder_php_2.1.1. I have no file in there called: ckfinder_config.php on my side or on the server.
I have uploaded the ckfinder folder to the server within ckeditor.
CKFinder status: CKFinder is installed, but invalid config.php was detected. Rename ckfinder_config.php to config.php (overwriting the default config.php file distributed with CKFinder).
Installation instruction:
1. Download CKFinder for PHP: http://ckfinder.com/download
2. Unpack contents of the "ckfinder" folder to "wp-content/plugins/ckeditor-for-wordpress/ckfinder/" directory
3. Rename ckfinder_config.php to config.php (overwrite default config.php distributed with CKFinder.)
I can't rename the file if it isn't named that in the first place.
I've even tried to kick it loose by deleting the config.php file within ckfinder and uploading again from the newly unzipped and downloaded ckfinder folder. I had renamed the file, uploaded and I still have the status above. Any suggestions appreciated.

There is also a readme.txt file there that instructs you how to add CKFinder to your CKEditor for WordPress installation.
