Workaround to use multiple block styles in one img/table?

Does anyone have a workaround so that it would be possible to add classes from the StylesSet combo that contain multiple styles and are identified after saving and reloading the editor? I suspect that it's a bug and have filed a raport but given that I don't think it's likely to be fixed quickly; does anyone have a workaround?

Here's a JSFiddle example. Focus on the table or either of the images; the block-level style for that element is not displayed in the stylesSet combo, any ideas on how to implement this?
