Thumbnail for non-images?

Hello,

Is it possible to use an image as a thumbnail for non-images?

I have this video cats.mp4 and I manually added an image cats.jpg (even tried cats.mp4.jpg) to thumbnails folder, hoping it would work.

Is it possible?
