I am probably not doing something very basic but when I try to install ckfinder after a new installation of the ckeditor module in Drupal 7, I get the message "ckfinder_php_2.2.1.tar.gz does not contain any .info files". I am doing this via Drupal's install a new module page. I don't see the "browse" button when I try to add an image or Flash. What am I doing wrong?!?
Thanks

Re: ckfinder won't instgall in Drupal 7
I am doing a bit more research and found this on the documentation for ckeditor:
"Open the Drupal settings file (sites/default/settings.php) and do the following:
Uncomment the $base_url variable and set the base URL of your website (without the trailing slash).
Uncomment the $cookie_domain variable and set the domain name of your website."
My settings.php currently has these sections in it:
# $base_url = 'http://www.example.com'; // NO trailing slash!
and
# $cookie_domain = 'example.com';
as my site is called www.ownergroupsdemo.com, should these lines now read
$base_url = 'http://www.ownergroupsdem.com'; // NO trailing slash!
and
$cookie_domain = 'ownergroupsdemo.com';
Is "uncommenting" removing the # ? I thought that comments were // characters.
Sorry to be dim but I have no experience of this type of coding and don't want to screw up my system.

If you're having troubles with installing CKEditor and CKFinder separately, try the dedicated module for Drupal: http://ckeditor.com/ckeditor-for-drupal

Re: ckfinder won't instgall in Drupal 7
Hi Wictor,
Thank you for that. I removed the single versions and did as you suggest, which got me CKeditor and CKfinder installed. Following the installation instructions, I allow users to use CKFinder in permissions. After that is where I am still stuck, the next lines read
Open the Drupal settings file (sites/default/settings.php) and do the following:
Uncomment the $base_url variable and set the base URL of your website (without the trailing slash).
Uncomment the $cookie_domain variable and set the domain name of your website.
(Optional) Configure CKFinder settings in the File browser settings section for the CKEditor profile that you want to use.
When I look in my settings.php I can find these lines in it:
# $base_url = 'http://www.example.com'; // NO trailing slash!
and
# $cookie_domain = 'example.com';
So as my site is called www.ownergroupsdemo.com, do I take it that these should now just be
$base_url = 'http://www.ownergroupsdem.com'; // NO trailing slash!
and
$cookie_domain = 'ownergroupsdemo.com';
Is "uncommenting" removing the # ? I thought that comments were // characters. Does that then stop me getting the message that "my browser is disabled for security reasons. Contact system administrator and check ckfinder configuration file" if I try to upload a file, or is there another step as well?
Sorry to ask such basic questions but I am just starting to work with Drupal for a business I'm involved with and we don't have a proper expert ourselves to consult!
