Issues integrating CKFinder and fckEditor (PHP)

To check if CKFinder is correctly integrated with FCKeditor, open samples inside of FCKeditor, click on an image button and then click "Browse Server" buton.
The reason why fckeditor.php sample from CKFinder doesn't work for you is that you have probably extracted FCKeditor into other location than CKFinder assumes (/fckeditor/).
Note that by editing fckconfig.js you have instructed FCKeditor where to search for CKFinder, but not the opposite.
If you want to run FCKeditor sample from the _samples directory provided with CKFinder you have two options:
- extract FCKeditor into /fckeditor/ (at this moment you may have it inside of /os/fckeditor/ (?))
- edit _samples/php/fckeditor.php and check/correct the following values:

   include_once '../../../fckeditor/fckeditor.php' ;
   require_once '../../ckfinder.php' ;
   $fckeditor->BasePath   = '../../../fckeditor/' ;

I was having the same issue. Thanks for your response. The sample works now. However, when the fckeditor is invoked through editing a mediawiki page on our install, the image/link buttons still do not show the additional ckfinder functionality. The fckconfig.js file has been modified as per instructions. Appreciate any pointers you may have.

That's because FCKeditor extension for MediaWiki offers simplified dialog boxes for images and links, adjusted to MediaWiki needs, there is no "Browse Server" button at all.
Note that when file is uploaded into MediaWiki via Special:Upload, additional meta data is saved into database, that's why it's impossible to use FCKeditor file browser or CKFinder within this extension.
