How to keep custom numbering when pasting from word

Using the pastefromword plugin in CKeditor, when pasting numbered items that use numbering such as (a) or (1), the text is pasted into the editor but the numbering is converted to a., 1.  

     (a) text line one

           (1) text line two

gets converted to:

     a.  text line one

          1. text line two

Any suggestions on how to keep the indentions, etc. and also keep the numbering from MS Word?  Thanks!
