Help with Preview function

Hey guys I'm new to the editor and I want to know if I can change the Preview function becouse I am trying to replace some phraces in the text with values from a database. Please help. Thanks

I don't quite understand. The preview function shows what you have written in the text field. You want it to show something else?

yes that's exactly what I want....let me explain a little more than...I am trying to make something like a template for a document....and there a certain phraces between "||" like |date|, |name| and so on....that when the document is loaded are replaced with the company's name...todays date...I hope you get it....I have the php function that replaces all those things but I want the user to be able to see the template with the real data....
