Scott,

We're experiencing the same thing. It would be nice if we had a warning or something from CKFinder that it was going to replace these.

We've also discovered that if you upload a file with spaces it gets lost during the thumbnail creation.

Absolutely right. I am also suffering from the same problem and sometimes it's to frustrating when you loss your data because of it.

It is possible to disable double extension check in the configuration file using the CheckDoubleExtension setting.
