Had an issue come up at work today - a client had filenames in their file library with multiple periods in the name, i.e. "file.na.me.jpg" and the like.
CKFinder skips these files when displaying the thumbnails for a given folder.
Doing a bit of testing with the CKFinder upload feature, I find that when uploading a file such as "file.na.me.jpg", the filename will get modified so that extra periods are substituted with underscores - i.e. "file_na_me.jpg".
That works fine if the CKFinder upload is the *only* method of uploading files - but in my system, it isn't. And there are many files in our system that have been around since before we started using CKFinder.
Since the upload feature has the period-to-underscore switcheroo, one assumes that this feature is there to get around the multiple-period filename display issue - my question is, is this display restriction a bug or a feature?

Re: Filenames with 2+ periods
We're experiencing the same thing. It would be nice if we had a warning or something from CKFinder that it was going to replace these.
We've also discovered that if you upload a file with spaces it gets lost during the thumbnail creation.

Re: Filenames with 2+ periods
Could you let me know the exact scenario where you lose any data?
