CKFinder-Uploading a PDF file

I'm new to using the CKFinder. Our company is setting up a webpage and the developer is using it, unfortunately I don't always have him available to answer questions. Which brings me to my question. I need to upload a pdf file to the site and I'm not sure how to do it. I'm sure it's probably simple. Can anyone tell me? Thanks
