Any plans to throttle thumbnail creation?

I recently accessed CKEditor on a client's ColdFusion website and the thumbnail generation practically performed a denial-of-service attack on the server.

Are there any plans to throttle the requests for missing images? Here's a javascript library that may assist in minimizing the impact:
