add styles to style combo

I tried to add a new style, to avoid choosing size of fonts of size combo, using size in px. The problem is that when I edit the fckstyles.XML, when I recharge the page, All styles dissapear.. I must overwrite with one backup file... Although clearing the IE cache many times, I must power down my pc to appear the default styles... HOW TO ADD A STYLE TO THE TOOLBAR STYLES ? In my case, I want to define size of font by px, adding it to a styles combo... I'm on it all the day , seeking help in the forum, but.. .ALL FAILS... When I change the .xml dissapears all items from STYLES.. WHY? Please explain me how to add a style . THANKS. I'm desesperating....

Make sure the XML is valid, by attempting to load it in IE.

Also make sure you observe all the same case as the styles in the original XML file.

I see the same problem with my style file.
And it's valid XML.

In firefox it is displayed correctly.

i have observed the same problem with the templates.xml file. i added a button to allow users to save templates, which writes the templates.xml file on the fly. this works fine - but when i edit the templates.xml file with an editor, the file cannot be read, so it looks like there are no templates.

i'm guessing this has something to do with the encoding/charset or something, but i haven't been able to track it down.

anybody have any ideas?
