Working around existing CSS

I'm having a hard time understanding how to work around existing CSS with FCK editor.
My pages that contain the editor and pages that display content from the editor both get messed up formatting as a result of the contents that the user enters in the editor.

I didn't install my FCK editor and I'm a novice with CSS but it seems that there should be a way to address classes that 'bleed' over to the content created by the editor and then formatting that is erased after it.

Well without actually seeing it this is an open ended question. There could be a million reasons why this is occuring. The #1 reason that comes to my head (which I will assum is the issue) is there is no limits set to the users using FCKeditor. In other words they are allowed to do whatever the editor allows them too and this is full html code etc, blowing apart your pages because of no limit. Most if not all project I have worked on and include this editor have level restriction added in, this can be from removing links in the toolbar of the editor or limiting the input of the text box area or forcing the database server to recieve only so much data of a certain type. You need to be a bit more descriptive on your issue and we might be able to help you out. With CSS if you are saying the users can change your actual full page look, I say someone prior to you didn't set up the editor correctly at all.
