Frederico, first of all, thank you very much for your hard work. You've made a really great project.
I see one problem with RC3 - paste from Word is still not auto-detected (it was in 1.6 I believe). It's an important function for end-users, since they often don't understand why they should use the separate 'paste from word' button.
Are there any chances of adding the auto-detection to Final Candidate?
Bigger problem! I can't even get RC3 to pass the entered text to the form action page. And that's on a page with only one editor instance. Sure hope this version gets straightened out before a final release because it's totally unusable for me. I'm going back to RC2....
Wow, I'm having lot of problems with this RC! The problem in Firefox of getting extra entries in the history is still there, and a bunch of new issues now. Switching to source view wipes the content in Firefox, and having issues again with more than one editor on a page (buttons don't work on the first). In IE, the editor wouldn't even load at all.
Can you reproduce this stuff? Id est, is it doing the same stuff in the online demo? I tried switching to source and back and it works fine, online. On my own system, even. Also, posting form field is fine (/me checks his demo.. yup. works for /me). And, for that matter, saying "blah blah doesn't work" isn't very helpful from a person trying to help's perspective. What version of FireFox are you running? Is your fckeditor deployed on *nix, or MS? Is it in /fckeditor, or a custom location? Have you tried using the default fckconfig.js from the RC3 package? Have you tried various browsers? Looking for JS errors? Dot your tee's and crossed yer aye's? DID YOU CLEAR YOUR CACHE, MAYBE EVEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER?
Maybe your disk needs defragging.... j/skidding. I had something weird happen, where I rebooted and I couldn't see the iframe. Stuff was there, just hidden. I replaced the fckconfig.js with the original file, and it worked again! I replaced it with my modified copy, and son of a gun, it still worked. I'm gonna see if it happens when I reboot again. Funny... used to reboot constantly. Now adays, I can go 'bout a month or so, easy, on the same freaking boot. Makes diagnosing hard core cache problems a pain in the ass, as it could have been a change I made 2 weeks ago that just never got totally cleared out. *sigh* everything is so... double-edged....
The online demo does seem to work fine. The problems I mention though are quite reproducable for me on my application. Well, somewhat...the problems with some buttons not working seems somewhat random, sometimes it appears in the first instance of the editor, sometimes in the second. RC2 works great on the same pages, other than the issue with it causing multiple history entries, it's worked very well for me. But if I switch over to RC3, lots of problems. And yes, I have tried clearing the cache and rebooting. I do get an JS error, I added that to a bug report for that particular issue. I'm using 1.01 Firefox, I'm running the editor in a ColdFusion application on Windows XP. I do run from a custom location, but I basically have the config file set the same as with RC2. I do think some of these issues showed up for me in IE, but I'll do some more checking and see what I can find.
Well, I'm not sure exactly how I corrected it but the issues with view source and the editor not sending the code to the form seem gone now. I made a new copy of all my code and that seemed to clear it up. So possibly some caching issue was still in effect. The biggest issue I still have is with buttons showing up as disabled. I've yet to have both editor instances on a page have all the buttons working.
