Uploaded files cannot be deleted by FTP

You need to ensure you have permission to do that. Files uploaded through the web browser are typically owned by a specific "user" on the server, for example on my linux/apache setup the user is www-data. When fies are uploaded, they then become owned by www-data and the www-data group. When you FTP in, you can't delete the files because you FTP in under a different user that is not part of the www-data group. Also, you can't chmod the files as you are not the owner or a member of that group. To fix the problem, if you are the administrator of the system, switch to the super user. otherwise, you have to delete and such through a web tool (see the formus ad patches for these features)

The people developing the connectors should set the rights to 777 for files when uploading and folders when creating. This way it don't matter witch user you are using to delete the files.

I solved this problem by using the same user for ftp and web (I have my own server where only I log in via FTP)

At any rate, 777 is dangerous. Your solution of using the same user to upload/delete etc. is better, in my opinion.

But I know little, so grain of salt and all that!

what if we cannot change 600 set file permissioned files via FTP?

My experience is that this is not a solid piece of software.
