Hi!
FCKeditor is definitely a solid peace of software, but I'm also having trouble with the PHP browser/uploader.
I got it working with the RC2 release, but now I'm having a different kind of problem: files uploaded and folders created by FCKe cannot be deleted by FTP programs, they give the "Permission denied" error when deleting and "Bad file descriptor" when trying to change the CHMOD permissions.
Has anyone else seen something like this?

I solved this problem by using the same user for ftp and web (I have my own server where only I log in via FTP)

At any rate, 777 is dangerous. Your solution of using the same user to upload/delete etc. is better, in my opinion.
But I know little, so grain of salt and all that!
RE: Uploaded files cannot be deleted by FTP
what if we cannot change 600 set file permissioned files via FTP?
