I just noticed that the mailprovider gmx.net is also using fckeditor as it's editor when the user uses HTML composing 
GMX is a free mailing service widely used in at least the german speaking countries. (Germany, Switzerland and Austria)
In 2002 they had 12 million of active email accounts, and I think in the last years the userbase has grown even more.
So we can say that fckeditor is widely used !
