I am editing on abc.xyz.com (example). If I set the link target to _blank for any other domain outside of xyz.com then the target attribute works as expected. However, I have a need to set a link to _blank for xyz.com/somepage. When the target gets set to _blank in this case however, the resulting code has stripped the target tag completely out.
Can anyone give me some advice or pointers as to how to resolve this?

EDIT:
After some further testing, this issue is NOT domain dependent. It seems to happen with any URL that contains a query string. A link to google.com will keep the target as _blank, but if you use a link from a google search result, then the target _blank gets removed.
At least I am closer to where the issue may reside, but any feedback/ideas from the community would be most welcome.
