Prevent word wrapping

I am trying to use instances of FCKEditor presented as single-line input boxes, i.e. no toolbars, scrollbars and no text wrapping. I can hide the toolbars and scrollbar but how can I prevent the user type in line breaks and at the same time ignore them when displaying the content? The editor would still be very useful for showing text content with colorized words etc, via code.
