1. From a technical perspective, developers will not like the reference to "Word" ... they are trying to help their users create nice clean code, and Word conjures up images of a horribly bloated mess.
I'll grant you the connection is positive for most non-technical users though.
2. WOW is also World Of Warcraft.

1. From a technical perspective, developers will not like the reference to "Word"?
At the beginning there was the word, and after that came MS, and after that came Word. Tokens parsed?
Claimed this generic word "Word" for wordprocessing-thingies? Yes, totally right, but not exclusively by MS! Only nearly true and totally false. Sometimes true, ok, but also sometimes never will, true, too, e.g. at beginning of a new sentence. Word? Just that word or just some installed Words? And in wordconjunctions associations will not be Word(TM), but just word. Church still is centered in town, sure.
Developers thinking about word as Word(TM) should try to produce one clearly written startmenu or manual, they could learn s.th. about the right word on the right place. MS decided to claim the well known word for its software, sure, and men have developed language for thousands of years, just to hand it out as a gift for MS? Or even better, just "T", the single lonesome big "T", for "Telecom": German justice said this "T" is legally claimed by Telecom only when painted in corporate blinkyPinky.
To make it very clear: MS decided to name its cherrycheesecake cheesecake, and now the cherrycheesecakes should name themselves as cherrycake? Yes? I think about software dealing with words, not Word(TM). The semantic token for software dealing with language is word, and here we are: Naming convention for pieces of cheesecake never can neglect the word "cheese" without loosing minimal pregnancy and even worse, without loosing any explorable meaning!
E R G O : " W O R D " I N T O T H E N A M E !
2. Developers trying to help their users create nice clean code?
Hm. Not code, words! Words of wisdom or anything else, but never: "clean code".
FCK is NOT made for code developers!
3. WOW is also World Of Warcraft.
And Wisdom_Of_Wisemen, and Windows_On_Wargroups, not to forget Whip_Zero_Wife.
"Right" said Fred? FCK? Football-Club-Kaiserslautern. I live there.
Here in Kaiserslautern we are like ants.
Very small town, and the greatest club. Red devils! VIVA FCK!!!
PS: Woff! Word(s)_Outof_Freds_FCKeditor. There will be a woochy woffdog as logo,
woff-woff-woff, and an asianstyle avatar Wu Tshi Wi in the bushes, speaking wisely about br, p, strong and b under the bush
Woofle: woff-woff-woff
RE: Woofle: woff-woff-woff
I would like to woofle, as a user, and not CKediting. Begging 4 pardon, just has to be repeated. FCKeditor is not just an editor. Its WYSIWYG. I do like jediting, 4jetting through my codes. I d'ont like woffing any more. Perhaps woofling? There is already Woofle.com. Wuffling? No. Woffling? Perhaps Woffle? No, there is woffle.com. Feel like pharao@nildata, NIX. WordsOver! Wordybee? Thor? Yet no idea. If the woofy should come you have to whistle - Patience: Konfuszinux
