Maximum Char Length for Editing Area?

My website is currently running the FCKeditor to show a catalog of courses that users can download. When I go to add text and html to the editing area (description) of a course it lets me type as much as I want. Then when I save it deletes a majority of it - leaving me with a few sentences as a description.

Is there a way to fix this? Are there any settings I can check? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

Change your database field type to "longtext". By default Text only allows 65535 characters. Because WYSIWUG saves white space by default as   and so on it can quickly hit the max text length inside 3 pages of data.
