The addition of the ability to insert Flash files is a big step forward for the FCKeditor, but any idea why (simplicity aside) the editor is using only the embed tag? I'm pretty sure this is not XHTML compliant, and although there are several ways to put a flash movie in code, using only embed does not seem the most compatible or forward looking. Any ideas if this will be expanded in future versions?

RE: Insert Flash embed code only?
If you manage to create a way to insert flash that works reliabily in IE and Firefox and that also validates the generated HTML output you could attach it to the patches section and I think that Frederico will add that for the next version.

And it still does remain the problem that IE uses to make a big mess when working with Object tags as DOM nodes.
