I found this javascript based spell checker that is fast and light weight.
May be a good alternative to iespell since it is activeX based.
check it out and let me know what you think:

Don't think that a real time spell checker can be an alternative as not all people have a internet connection all the time.

The image upload uses the various connectors (asp,cfml,jsp,etc)? Thos are all server side languages and require an internet connection.
If the user does not have an internet connection, they wouldn't be using a web browser and thus would not be using FCKeditor.
After all, FCKeditor is "the text editor for the internet"
