How Can I Add New Text Fields?

I downloaded simpleblog 3.0, which uses FCKeditor. I am wanting to add a couple of text fields to the blog such as category and mood. There are a lot of files associated with FCKeditor. I scanned through all of them, but I didn't know where to begin. I have very little ASP knowledge.

Can anyone help a noob out?
