Horizontal scrollbar on IE

On IE (using FCP), no matter whether I specify a width or not, IE shows a horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the the textarea when there's existing content in the textarea. (I'm using ReplaceTextarea()). Has anyone encountered this, and if so have any ideas on how to get rid of the scrollbar? It's cutting off just a tiny fragment -- just enough to be a nuisance for users.

Same happens for me whenever content outstrips size of window (horz or vertz). Dunno any fix off hand. It is all just an iframe tho, so theoretically you could check out iframes in google and see if there is a style attrib or some such that you could hard code somewhere.
