Hi.
I want to make it possible for my end users to use nested divs. The divs that are inserted are inserted with a specific user-selected class.
In FF this works great and there is no problem editing nested divs.
In IE I can select and/or edit the outermost div, but not DIV nested inside other DIV's.
Is there a workaround for this?
Is this a known bug in FCKeditor or a limitation when using IE?
I really, really hope I can get some serious feedback on this one.
Hmm... Why do I want to do this, you may ask.
I want to, at a laiter stage, make it possible to use these DIVs with NiftyCorners. If you do not what NiftyCorners are then it is a great way to create round corners on DIV's in a page without using images. It is lightweight and degrades exellent if javascript are disabled in viewers browser.
Best regards

Update!
Found perhaps related problems here:
http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3279374
So I removed the float attribute in my class and then I could "in a way" edit the nested DIVs
But editing did not work very vell for the nested divs.....
Looks like <br /> mess up the look of the content without actually messing HTML. That is HTML looks correct but it certainly does not look good.
When I hit CR in the nested div then the DIV is not drawn correctly and does not fill background-color all the way out on the bottom text-line... background-color only covers the letters in bottom line and not the whole width of the DIV.
Update!
1. IE and FF
If I in the second level DIV insert a line break <br /> then then next line does not show correct within that div.
The background-color does not cover the whole last line.
And the last line messes up the line above.
The same happens with all lines in second level DIV.
2. FF
If the second level DIV class contain float:right (only tested float:right, same probably for float:left) then second level DIV overlaps the first level DIV, that is if the second level is at bottom of first level DIV the second level div starts within the first level div but ends outside its bottom border. It is editable though.
2. IE.
If the second level DIV class contain float:right (only tested float:right, same probably for float:left) then
second level div is not editable and not selectable.
3. FF
With or without use of float in class, the DIV is not selectable. It would be nice if it could. In IE I can click on a DIV and then a nice border shows which DIV is selected and I can drag it around, delete it etc...
Would be nice to have this in FF, but might be a limitation of the FF browser....
If some core-developers want an image file to see what I'm talking about I'm more than happy to send you one.
Anyone out there knowing if this issue is beeing worked on?
Best regards
RE: Update!
Just wondering though, did you try the niftycorners with a P or some other element? A *shiver* table maybe? Bleh. Not very helpful, I know.
Does it look right in the preview, and it's just editing it that has the funny look?
What happened with krazykorners?(if that's how it's spelled.). Did that not work as well as nifty?
Dunno at this point if it's us or them. Probably be more people out there complaining about the phenomenon if it was them (I.E. browser limitation,etc.). I haven't searched, so I don't know. Did you try it in another RTE?
Questions questions everywhere, not an answer to think...
MTFBWY!!
I might donate $$ to FCK to get this done.
I might donate $$ to FCK to get this done.
But before I do so I need to know if this can be done.
I'm thinking here about getting the nested DIV's to work right when editing.
Can Frederico comment on that?
I do not like the thought of paying for support when what I want is this particular nested DIV problem to work.
How do I get in contact with Frederico?
