Dear all,
Please look at this page in both IE and Firefox:
http://lhsvn.com.vn/modules.php?name=Ne ... t&sid=1156
The font size displayed on Firefox is MUCH SMALLER than IE. I try it with clean text (Notepad), select all and choose Fontname: Arial, Font Size: x-small from FCK Editor. The problem also happens directly on the editing windows (FCK).
Again with same size: x-small, font displayed on Firefox is much smaller than IE on both editing windows (FCK) and front-end.
Please help me.
Thanks in advanced,
FSOnline

Re: FCKEDITOR - Font size is different on IE and Firefox
Looks fine when viewing content on IE8.
Very frustrating. Did you get any solution?
Re: FCKEDITOR - Font size is different on IE and Firefox
I have been fighting with that for last weeks and it's been a very frustrating experience
I managed to have the same font size both in IE 7/8 and Firefox but paddings never seem to match up. Fonts are rendered different on OSX and I made my peace with that....
I have started from scratch using Yahoo Reset CSS 3 (http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/3/exampl ... ource.html) as a starting point, even though their CSS will have problems related to padding; font-sizes do match though... So it seems by adding padding-top: 1px (or margin-top: 1px) for IE, I'd be done with that
Well.... as I type this, it seems I don't need the top-margin now.... very confusing....
But my font-sizes are the same.... so I guess I should be happy?
P.S. Testing on XP/IE8 it seems paragraphs are horizontally 1px off...
Vista shows fine
well... if anyone wants to discuss this issue, just send me a message
Re: FCKEDITOR - Font size is different on IE and Firefox
I'm having the same issue. I've set the default font size and type in the fck_editorarea.css file (see these instructions: http://www.egnarosoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=67.0 ), but this is only working in Internet Explorer. When I load up my webpage with the FCKeditor in Firefox (tested with the last versions of the 3.x series and version 4.0.1) the defaults do not load. In Firefox the user must select their text and choose the font size and style - if they don't they will get the tiniest text...
Any suggestions?
Re: FCKEDITOR - Font size is different on IE and Firefox
I'm about to download FCKEditor 2.6.3 (not the latest version I know) but before I do, have noticed that a few people have had a few issues with FCKEditor.
I'm not sure if any of you have resolved your font size issues (this subject) and have not yet submitted the results here but if you have, would you please mind posting it up in case I come across the same issue soon during development of my web site!
Also, I read in another forum (sorry I didn't record the link) that someone had an 'uploading to the server' issue. FCKEditor worked on his local machine but not when he uploaded his site to a hosting server.
Has anyone else had any issues of the kind?
I suppose I should also start a new thread on it as it differs from the subject line above!
Hopefully we get this sorted soon.
Cheers
Re: FCKEDITOR - Font size is different on IE and Firefox
If you want bug fixes or new features you should start with the latest CKEditor release, not something that it's already outdated.

Re: FCKEDITOR - Font size is different on IE and Firefox
But that user stated that he was going to download now a version that it's really old. So he doesn't have it, there's no previous code that he's modifying, he is just starting with an outdated version.
He's free to do whatever he wants, but he shouldn't expect to get fixes or improvements when he has started with something known to be outdated
Re: FCKEDITOR - Font size is different on IE and Firefox
You posted in a fairly old topic. You cannot expect this issue to be fixed by CKSource developers, because FCKeditor was retired and will NOT be updated any more. Last release was two years ago, many new browsers have appeared on the market since that time and issues like this will keep appearing. They will not be fixed, though.
CKEditor is a successor to FCKeditor, a far superior product, with tons of fixes over FCKeditor, and the only one that is in active development.
