FCK Strips Line Breaks?!?

If I were to go into source view with FCK and enter some html like this...

Some content<br />
Some content<br />
Some content<br />
Some content<br />
Some content<br />

then hit save it reformats it to this...

Some content<br /> Some content<br /> Some content<br /> Some content<br /> Some content<br />

If I am working with complicated HTML this is incredibly annoying and completely unwanted, is there any way around this?
