Development Installation

I would like to install FCK Editor on my PC as a stand alone product as apposed to integrating it into a web page / website. Is this possiable, if so how?

The reason I need it as a Stand Alone product is because I would like to play around with it's features and manipulate/add some new functionalities to it before integrating it into out Content Management System.
