Confused about Java

We are using the FCKeditor and wonder about the java 2.3 download. Does this package the editor in a java applet and thus is cross browser compatible (including Safari)? thanks!

No,

you only need the java download, if you wish to integrate it with JSP or Java servlets.

Currently there is no safari release of fckeditor available. But there is work in progress on this.

Yes, correct Andr, it's the integration library if you use a servlet container on the serverside
