I have been trying to customize our fckstyles.xml file. I am aware that my cache needs to be refreshed. I am deleting all private data, closing the browser, then re-opening. My changes, in this case, to the fckstyles.xml file are not showing up. I've repeated that process with four different browsers, IE, FF, Opera, Safari, all the same problem. It's not until the next day that my changes will show up. I'm thinking this could be an issue with some kind of cache on my host's end. I'm waiting for a response back from them. Could this be the problem? Is there something else I can try?

Re: Cache issues driving me insane
Hello there,
Being a developer, I never use a cache whilst browsing. To achieve this I use the following Firefox add-on.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60
There's an option to disable your cache. Overall, it's a fantastic little tool. One thing though - if you disable your cache, Firefox effectively uses your RAM to store content. Over time, this can become a little bloated, a little like an overloaded cerebrum.
With regards to your specific issue, you need to consider three possibilities:
Your browser is caching the data;
Your web host is caching the data;
Your ISP is caching the data
Either one of these could be preventing you from viewing the *most* recent content. The first one can be easily fixed by using META tags, timestamp checks or the addition of a random string on your pages/posts etc. Your web host really shouldn't be caching anything at all (are they cheapskates? oversubscribed?). If your host or ISP is caching data, a polite and specific email might persuade them to disable it for you. If they don't, threaten to change providers. If they still don't, change providers.
HTH,
Cheers.
