Why does CKEditor appear on the web page for the whole world to see? How does one hide it and access only for editing? I know this seems like a dumb question, but I can't find a single thing in any of the docs about this.
I have downloaded and installed CKEditor and uploaded a test page to the web. When I visited the test page there was CKEditor live on the page, read to edit the text I selected within the page code, in plain view for site visitors to see.
In other words the installation was a complete success, other than the fact that anyone visiting the page could see the editor there ready to do its job.
Why doesn't the page appear normally, and how can I access CKEditor privately? And how does one set password protection so that not just anyone can assess CKEditor and use it?
Your help is appreciated.
You need your own or anothers solution
CKEditor and CKFinder are tools that you can plug into areas of your code | site. Neither claims to be a full CMS solution.
There are many CMS solutions out there. If you are unable to code your own or don't have a developer available, check-out; Getsimple CMS.
Never used it myself, I just did a quick google search for you....

Hi Karen,
Hi Karen,
Actually I am a web developer and very comfortable with coding. Here is the problem:
I understand how to install CKEditor. I know how it works. But what I don't understand is HOW IT WORKS, which is not documented ANYWHERE!
What do I mean "understand how it works, but don't understand how it works." Simple. I know how to install it, and how it functions, but not how it is used in a practical way?? Once it is installed and configured to a page, and the page is uploaded, the editor appears right there on the page. It isn't much use to upload a website with CKEditors all over it.
So how do you actually use CKEditor to edit a page, save the page, and then not have CKEditor displaying for the whole world to see?? What is the procedure of how to set it up for practical use?
Do you have two web sites?? If so how do you save changes to both?? How is that structure set up??
None of this is covered in the documentation. I know how to install it, and use it, but no idea of how to set it up as a practical solution.
Been trying to figure out how to use it practically for a week now and am mega frustrated.
you're starting at the end.
