I've been a dedicated user since 2006 and have been satisifed with every upgrade until now. After the new version was installed by my service provider, upon opening various content areas, code which has been there for years was stripped out! So, I asked him what is going on? He determined that 4.1 is installed as a slimmed down version, rather than an all-inclusive one. The result is that, unless another plug-in is installed to restore previous functionality, the next time a content area is opened, that code is stripped.
Among the types of code that was stripped -- until we found the correct plug-in for it on CKEditor are:
- Formatting
- Font Size
- H1, etc.
- iframe
- Font colors
- Tablle attributes
- And now forms, just to name a few (there are so many I can't remember them all but point them out to the service provider as I find them)
I am a very frustrated and fatigued by what seems like my continual fighting to get back what was already on our website before the new version of the editor was installed. It's one thing if the editor wants to format the code using CSS moving forward but to strip code that I've spent years adding to the website? Just today, I discovered that forms code from a 3rd party email management application that my organization has a subscription with also gets stripped because the forms plug-in is not installed. So, right now, my website cannot accept sign-ups to the email lists. I shouldn't have to hunt down a solution. I just "want it to work". I'm assuming the "fix" is installing the forms plug-in.
This certain iteration of the CKEditor is trying my patience. You are not doing yourselves any favors in what appears to be poor customer service to at least this client who has been using all prior versions of your editor since 2006. I've been very satisfied -- unti now.
