In 3.6.5, one could specify "spellchecker" and "scayt" as toolbar items. Two separate toolbar items would appear.
For 4.0, I did CKBuilder with full option and added both the scayt ("scayt") and spellcheck ("wsc") plugins, among others. I did not change the code. There now appears only one toolbar item, scayt. Its drop down menu includes the regular spell check.
Is this all by design? Should the two items appear separately, even if the scayt item's dropdown now includes regular spell checking?
We were using the thirdy
We were using the third party aspell plugin under 3.6.5 which refused to load under 4.0. When I dug in to investigate, I found that it was because the lang strings for "spellcheck" have been removed from the 4.0 code base across all language files. This prevents the aspell plugin from loading and may be preventing yours as well. I patched the issue in the aspell plugin by manually injecting the spell check strings bacj into the language arry, however I am currently looking for a better/cleaner way of handling this for multilingual support without tampering with CKE's internal data structure.
It's working under scayt
OK. The "regular" spell check works under scayt, so really nothing lost (I am typing now into the new moono skin with a scayt toolbar item with a drop down menu that can be used to launch the regular webspellchecker.net spell checker as well as to set scayt options). It is actually cleaner this way -- one toolbar item instead of two. Perhaps if you changed the tool tip to indicate spell check as well as scayt, you could then simply leave it this way.
Ticket created
Hi Jackherr,
thanks for pointing this out. I've created ticket #9935 at our tracker for this issue; this will be changed to make it more obvious that various spell checker options are now combined under one button.
